NG TENG FONG GENERAL HOSPITAL ENDOVASCULAR WORKSHOP

Dr. Purugganan, Dr. Desquitado and the NTFGH Vascular Team

Jurong East, Singapore - Committed to improving and adding knowledge and skills of its members, the PSVES secured two (2) slots for a two - day endovascular workshop in Ng Teng Fong General Hospital at Jurong East Street in Singapore.  Held last March 21-22, 2018, the Philippine delegation was represented by Dr. Benito VC. Purugganan Jr of National Kidney and Transplant Institute and Dr. Adrian Peter E. Desquitado of Asian Hospital and Medical Center.  The program contained didactics and basic techniques for lower extremity endovascular revascularizations as well as hemodialysis access management.

Case Planning before doing the procedure

The participants of the workshop came from other Asian countries like Indonesia and Singapore itself.  The mentors of the workshop included Adj. Assit Professor Harvinder RS Sidhu, Adj Assit Professor Vikram Vijayan, Dr. Alok Tiwari and Dr. Chen Min Qi.  

The activity started with a pre—workshop dinner where Dr. Alok Tiwari welcomed the participants and presented the outcomes of an endovascular first approach in Asian patients with critical limb ischemia.  It was followed by two-day workshop packed with live case demonstrations at the NTFGH Hybrid Operating Theatre.
