Quezon City
- Vascular Access will be one of the lifelines of patients with end - stage
renal disease. Following the mantra “Create,
Manage, Preserve”, the Society made it one of its trusts to educate the
colleagues in discipline, vascular nurses and vascular technologists, vascular
coordinators about the vascular access for hemodialysis.
Last June
16, 2018, the National Kidney and Transplant Institute held its 25th
Post - Graduate Course in Dialysis Midyear Convention, with the theme “Back
to Basics” at the Lecture Hall of the institution. It invited the Society to hold lectures for
the convention. Working along the theme,
the Society created the course entitled: “Vascular Access Management Course: Lecture and Workshop”.
Attended by
over 130 participants, from nurses to vascular technologists to nephrologists,
general and vascular surgeons, the lectures aimed at improving the knowledge in management of the vascular access, to
prevent complications like blood – stream related infection.
