3RD INTER - HOSPITAL GRANDROUNDS

Ortigas, Pasig City - The 3rd Inter-Hospital Grand Rounds was held last October 27, 2018 at the Marco Polo, Hotel, in Pasig City. Hosted by the National Kidney and Transplant Institute Department of Organ Transplant and Vascular Surgery (DOTVS), the activity was opened by Dr. Sergio Servando Simangan, the chairman of the DOTVS. 

Dr. Ferdinand Cruz Jr, a senior Vascular Surgery fellow, presented a complicated case of AV Malformation involving the left upper extremity. Colleagues from different services and institution graced the event as panel reactors. These were Dr. Josefino Sanchez, a cardio - thoracic and vascular surgeon from the University of Sto. Tomas Hospital, Dr. Ferri David - Paloyo, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon from the UP - Philippine General Hospital and Dr. Antonio Sison, a seasoned Orthopedic Surgeon of NKTI and past president of the Philippine College of Surgeons. 

Distinguished mentors, Dr. Avelino Aventura Sr and Dr. Enrique Ona, former Dept. of Health Secretary, shared their experiences in management of the disease.

The activity was well - attended by vascular surgery consultants and trainees alike from different institiution namely: National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Philippine Heart Center, Lung Center of the Philippines, UP - Philippine General Hospital, Quirino Medical Memorial Hospital, The Medical City - Ortigas, Rizal Medical Center, Pedro Calungsod Medical Center, to name a few.
